She Wiggles When She Walks!
Sweet CYDNEY came to us walking slightly unsteady on her rear legs. Although the veterinarian at the origin shelter felt there was nothing that could be done we felt when should verify that diagnosis with our “go-to” Surgeon, Dr. Callum Hay. He performed a myelogram on CYDNEY and found there was evidence of a previous spinal issue that had never been resolved resulting in her present level of function. He also found a calcified disc. (We have x-rays and the DR. reports available in case you would want to discuss the results with your veterinarian)
The good news is that CYDNEY had adjusted to these abnormalities and Dr. Hay does not believe she has any greater risk of future spinal issues than any other Beagle would have. Dr. Hay commented that it will be important to keep her weight under control and be careful with high impact activities.
As you can see from the video, CYDNEY is very playful and really does not let her issues slow her down from playing. She loves humans and also enjoys being a lap dog,
CUDNEY’s “buzz cut” is a result of her myelogram and her fur should grow back quickly.
