COPPER III comes to our rescue as an owner surrender, who adopted him from the SPCA but then didn't realize how difficult it was being single and having 2 jobs plus a young dog. She turned him over to SEBR because she wanted him to have the home he deserved and with someone who can spend more time with him. COPPER has been a delight to foster, according to his foster mom. He is playful, obedient and knows how to sit. He is crate trained and housebroken. He still has a lot of puppy in him, so he is very curious and does need some training with leaving things alone that are not his. He loves playing with toys but needs hard to destroy toys as he is quite the chewer. He gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats. He is friendly to all people and just wants to be loved and cuddled. He is very easy to give medication to and to have his ears cleaned. He recently had surgery to repair a cherry eye and was so good at letting his foster mom put the antibiotic drops in his eye. He sat there and waited until she was done. He would do well with a family where someone is not gone all day as he does have separation anxiety. He loves companionship and would thrive with another dog in the home who he can run in the yard with. Although not witnessed by us, we are told he has had a couple of mild seizures in the past, cause unknown, but we are being careful with choosing his heartworm prevention and flea prevention as this possibly could be the cause. COPPER hopes to find his forever home as he feels very confused in his short 3 years of life not knowing what a real family can be. His foster mom describes him as "one of the most lovable and sweetest beagles I have had the privilege of fostering."
